About Mission Valley

Mission Valley is a wide valley trending east/west in San Diego, California, located by the San Diego River. Mission Valley serves as a shopping and entertainment center for San Diego. It contains a large number of shopping centers, auto malls, and other commercial developments.

On the southern rim of the valley at the western end is Presidio Park. To the east up the valley is Mission San Diego de Alcala for which the valley is named.

Mission Valley is also home of Qualcomm Stadium, where the Chargers football team plays their home games. At the outlet of Mission Valley is SeaWorld, Mission Bay and many other San Diego attractions. Mission Valley serves as a path for Interstate Highway 8 and is crossed at its mouth by I-5, the original major east-west and north-south routes serving San Diego, resepctively. I-15, I-805, and C-163 serve Mission Valley as well.
